The dragon (a monster as big as a mountain!) took one look at his toy sword and snorted.

"You don't scare me, dragon! Knights always kill the monsters in the end!"

"Prince Arthur Pendragon," the dragon said, as if Arthur had not spoken. "The world will kill and eat you. But not if you eat the heart of the world first."

Arthur frowned. The dragon wasn’t following the storyline.

"Two golden children sharing one destiny."

In the morning, he would think that it was all a dream.

This young man who gave him pretty words ("You'll always be my Merlin, and I'll always be your Arthur") delivered through warm breath and soft kissable lips.

First Time (Merlin/Arthur drabble, PG-13)

The first time Merlin kissed Arthur, they were standing on an ocean of grass.

Merlin trembled a little, and the kiss remained chaste until Arthur pulled at his stupid scarf—trust Merlin to be wearing a scarf on a glorious summer day—and plundered Merlin's lips.

The grass was heavy with dew, and later Arthur would find mud dotting the back of his jeans. But right this moment he could only listen to the tiny sounds Merlin made at the back of his throat.

The first time Arthur kissed Merlin, just two nights ago, he had thought Merlin was asleep.

Hook reflects upon his precious collection

One by one, Hook found boys he thought would suit. They were to be Peter's companions, so they had to be worthy, and it was very rare that the Captain found lads that were acceptable. An eight-year-old ran around chasing fairies away from their comfortable perches on the honeysuckles. The boy's cheeks were stung red from the wind, and the face beneath flyaway blond hair was gleeful.

“Be careful with their wings, Scorpius!” Draco called out as his son darted behind a birch tree.

Scorpius retracted his hand. “Is it another cursed book, Papa? Grandma said you shouldn't leave them lying around.”

Draco raised an eyebrow at his son's bossy tone. “I bet Grandma also said good little boys shouldn't snoop around their father's study.”

The six-year-old pouted.

Picking the book up with reverent fingers, Draco said, “A...friend left this for me. The notes he penned between these pages are invaluable.”

Draco eyed Florean Fortescue’s glass display with the desperate longing of a denied sweetaholic.

"The Dental-Wizard said no hot or cold food for three days," Harry reminded his boyfriend.

Draco huffed in annoyance. His attempt at a Malfoy glare only made him look silly with his swollen pink cheeks. Shortly after his twenty-eighth birthday, Draco’s wisdom teeth had suddenly grown in. All four of them.

Harry realized that he was not quite successful in masking his amusement when Draco’s left eye started twitching.

Hastening to avoid a full-blown Malfoy tantrum, he quickly pointed at a jewelry store. "Look, pretty rings!"

Some arguments against fanfic (with refutations) @ LJ and IJ

If fanfic is indeed more about social interaction and acceptance than it is about dollars and cents…
And if fanficcers are truly interested in taking the authors wishes into account…
And if they just want to have fun without hurting anybody…
Then perhaps we need to create a technological version of the video store’s back room, with thick red curtains and a sign that says “Anyone who gets creeped by Kirk and Spock fondling each other should stay the hell out“. If it’s compartmentalized, I doubt many people would object.
