Regarding pr0n and privacy issues
I agree that:

1 a. Fanfic authors have the responsibility to put up warnings.
1 b. Fanfic readers should not act all offended if they choose to ignore those warnings.

2 a. Those who like crossgen might identify with the younger, not the older, of the pairing.
2 b. Those who like dub-con/non-con/rape might identify with the one overpowered, not the aggressor.

3. Non-fandomers will not stumble upon chan unless they specifically look for it.
How many of you even know what "chan" means before becoming part of the HP fandom? (Note: "shota" =/= "chan." More on that some other time.)

*. [info]florahart's replies to this comment are well thought out that you should read them in their entirety.

Customs officials may search laptop or other personal electronic storage devices at the border.
(I'm including as many article links as possible, because the media are inconsistent on Michael Timothy Arnold's age: 44, 45, or 46 y.o.?)
- San Francisco Chronicle
- Law.com
- PC Magazine
- Recent Technology News
- KNBC.com
- La Leva di Archimede
- Daily Breeze
- Reuters

To sum up, leave your laptop at home or clear your folders from pr0n sensitive materials if you're crossing U.S. border. They also may check your USB, CD, DVD, etc.

Granted this M. T. Arnold person was arrested for having real child pr0n, but who knows? Having a bootlegged movie on your laptop might also be cause for prosecution.
